If you're stuck on a Z, the N/A's can be had for around $7,000 if you shop around. I know I'll take a lot of crap for this, but here's my list for you: Domestic- 89-95 Mustang GT 5 speed 5.0 liter (avoid automatics), the older ones are very cheap (between $3,000- $6,000) and there is absolutely no limit to aftermarket parts available for Mustangs, and they're dead reliable (I have over 260,000 miles on my '90 GT with no breakdowns). Import- first gen. Eagle Talon/Eclipse/Laser turbo 5-speed, these can be made fast for pretty cheap, and there are a decent amount of aftermarket parts available. Nissan 240sx, somewhat inexpensive, good swap potential with good looks. Older Z's (avoid '84-86 300zx) very inexpensive if you get a 280. The V-8 swap isn't hard & is pretty cheap to do. Back in the last place I lived in, there were a couple of guys with 260&280 Z's who had small block chevy motors (one was a 327, the other was a 400) who were VERY fast! You can get by with a cheap beater (less than $1,000) and have pretty guilt free fun with them. Break it, dump it, get another. I'm for getting something nicer (you usually get what you pay for) and fixing it up until you can afford something nicer. Good luck! : How much would a 91 NA w/ around 70 or 80k miles on it run? All of the cars you guys have mentioned are on my "possibilities list." Also, does anyone in the Florida area know the best way to find older model Z's such as the 240Z? I know they're rare to find, and even rarer to find one that isn't rusted to pieces. Hell I could drop a 350 V8 in one of those things and be flying.
